Fall is here, and with it comes the changing of the leaves and, potentially, your Medicare plan.
The Annual Enrollment Period, also known as Fall Open Enrollment, begins each year on October 15th and ends on December 7th. During this window, you can change your Medicare plan as follows:
Switch from Original Medicare/Medigap to Medicare Advantage.
Switch from Medicare Advantage to Original Medicare/Medigap. (Qualifying circumstances)
Change Medicare Advantage plans.
Enroll in Part D prescription drug coverage if you did not enroll during your Initial Enrollment Period.
If you make a change during this AEP, your new plan will start January 1st 2023. Medicare prices change on a yearly basis, check here to see how much Medicare costs for 2023.
You might want to switch your plan if your healthcare needs, budget, or lifestyle have changed since you picked your current plan. If you aren't on the right plan at the right time, your costs can pile up before you know it.
Even if you are happy with your plan, it is worth confirming that your doctors, preferred pharmacies, and other healthcare needs are still in-network and aligned with your plan.
If you are thinking about switching, give us a call at 1-888-376-2028. At Fair Square Medicare, our client retention rate is 94% year-over-year for good reason. We will help you find your best plan.
