Launch of Virgil

Every senior on Medicare receives the Medicare and You handbook. There's a lot of useful information in there, over 120 pages in fact, but it's quite difficult to parse through. That's why we've developed

Virgil

, an AI model trained on said handbook that can answer your questions about Medicare in most languages spoken on the internet. All you need to do is type in your question, and Virgil will do the rest. No more skimming and searching, no more translating.

What about your more nuanced questions?

Virgil is great for answering questions in the handbook, but it's not smart enough to answer all of your Medicare questions (yet). You can

use our blog

to answer questions that aren't so straightforward, like "Are Medicare Advantage plans bad?" If you are new to Medicare and you're not sure where to start, you can play

20 Questions to Ask a Medicare Agent.

Do you know how to file a Medicare complaint?

You know your rights in everyday life, but what about your Medicare rights? Especially the following:
  • The right to when you get health care
  • The right to get the health care services that the law entitles you to
  • The right to defense against unethical practices
  • The right to your personal privacy
If you feel as though you have had your rights infringed against, contact your

Medicare Ombudsman

. We are here to help you become your own best advocate for your healthcare rights.

What's new in Medicare this month?

The Supreme Court is hearing arguments in April concerning the False Claims Act. According to

NPR

, the issue comes down to whether or not hundreds of major retail pharmacies overbilled Medicare and Medicaid by overstating the prices of their prescriptions. If they did, this might have cost taxpayers over $200 million. A decision is expected to come from the Supreme Court over the summer months.

The Senior Center

Have you been experiencing the return of springtime temperatures? Or are you still biding your time for the warm weather to return in earnest? Either way, preparing your garden for the sun to return is easy. Real Simple has compiled a great list of

5 Ways to Get Your Garden Ready for Spring

.

Now is the time to enjoy your spring outdoors!
